Amazon Pegged to Pull Ahead of Walmart by Middle of Next Year


Amazon is finally poised to take the top spot in the retail world, with projections to surpass Walmart by the middle of 2022. The two companies are currently dead even, with each controlling around 9% of all U.S. retail sales. However, Amazon is now positioned to break away in both share of U.S. retail sales and total dollar amount of sales. Six years ago, Walmart did more than triple the sales of Amazon, showing how quickly the internet company has gained market share.
