Malls feel the pinch as outbreak shrinks crowds
The coronavirus outbreak is having a growing effect on malls in densely populated areas as a number of major retailers plan to temporarily close stores. Mall visits could recover when the outbreak subsides, but "rents may have to be reset materially to keep the lights on," says Thomas Dobrowski of NKF Capital Markets.
