New consumer habits could bring change at convenience stores

The lion's share of US consumers live just a few minutes away from a convenience store, but changing consumer habits could disrupt the industry. Consumers are smoking less and using GPS instead of paper maps, slowing sales of two convenience store staples, and fuel-efficient cars mean people aren't gassing up as often as they did in the past.
